Default Prophecies and Factions?

Is there any way to go from prophecies to factions or do you have to complete prophecies before going to factions? I bought both and was told you can bring characters from prophecies to factions and play in both worlds. I see alot of ppl from factions going to Prophecies with their characters and vice versa. How do i do that?

When you get to Lions Arch, that skill dude gets you to Cantha.

For Prophecies character, you need to be ascended before you can go to Catha from LA. For Cathan character, once you reach Kaineng center, you will be able to travel to LA after you finish "Chaos in Kryta" quest, from Guardsman Chienpo, very simple quest.

Nope, you can go to Cantha anytime. My Tyria-born Monk finished factions yesterday and isn't ascended.

Nothing hard, really- just do a simple quest from the skill dude at Lions Arch, and you are in Cantha, you can travel back and forth using the little boat on the map, same for Cantha-Tyria. Simple

That's weird. From the FAQ on GW website, it says:
Quote:
Will I be able to take my existing characters in the new areas of the world? Do they keep their items, their levels, etc?

If you purchase Factions, you will be able to travel to the new land, Cantha, with your Ascended characters from Guild Wars (original Prophecies campaign). Inventory items, skills, and other possessions and attainments from Guild Wars remain yours and remain useable within Guild Wars Factions.
Maybe they changed it lately. Or it's not required for newly created Tyria character.

I think now there will be (or already exist) a new type of running business, express from Ascalon to LA so ppl can go to Cantha with Tyria born.

As stated by megalomaniac_mutant, don't really have to be infused. I have a tyrian born lvl3 storage ele and a tyrian born lvl4 storage mesmer, both wearing armor from the Shing Jea Monastery.

To OP:

Once you're at Lion's Arch, talk to the skills guy and he will give you a quest that requires you to find Mhenlo. Follow that quest and you will end up in Bejunkan Pier of Cantha. Talk to Dockhand Quangnai for the Welcome to Cantha quest and you will end up in Kaineng Center (the first town on the map for a tyrian character) . When you want to go back to Prophecies, just hit M and click on the boat west of Kaineng Center and choose Lion Arch.

To Nickelocene:
There already is.

just do the missions and main questline, and you'll end up in LA soon enough. You would seriously spoil your fun if you get a run, it's the first time you do all the stuff, it can't be boring yet ...

If you're at Great Northern Wall, finish that mission and it will get you to Fort Ranik mission. Finishing Fort Ranik will get you to Frontier Gate (outpost), grab a quest that will lead you to Ruins of Surmia (mission). Finish that and you will end up in Nolani (mission), finish that and you will get to Yaks Bend (outpost). Get the primary quest to get to Borlis Pass (mission), finish that and you will get to Frost Gate (mission), finish that and you will get to Beacon's Perch. Ignore all the runners that are running to Droks, grab a quest and continue to Gates of Kryta (mission). Finish that and you end up in Lion's Arch. Run on sentences FTL.

Most of those items you mentioned, bar the dyes, should probably be just sold to the merchants as you may have a hard time trying to find buyers.

Ok, since you haven't gotten past the Great Northern Wall, this will explain why nobody wants to buy your stuff. It's beginner level stuff. You have quite a ways to go in the Prophecies campaign before you get a weapon drop that other players will buy.

You can sell your dyes, but the rest of the stuff should either be salvaged for crafting materials, sold to the merchant, used by your character, or saved in case you want to start another character that can use it. You have very low level items that nobody will buy. Don't waste time trying to sell them. For the dyes, just pay attention to the WTS / WTB chatter to find out what others are trading them for and if you want a quick sale, undercut them. People will buy the dyes.

You don't ever go back to Ashford Abbey. What is the item that you believe is required ?
